Photo Luego

For carpet cleaners

Carpet looks the same the day after. Show the stain that was there.

Once a carpet is clean and dry, customers forget how bad the traffic lanes and stains were. Photo Luego records each room before you start and from the same spot after, then turns the pairs into a report your customer keeps.

Works in your phone's browser. Free plan, no card needed.

Where the money leaks

Customers forget how stained and matted the carpet was once it is clean.

Some stains do not come out, and you need proof of what was there before and what you tried.

Pre-existing damage, such as burns, bleach spots and worn patches, can be blamed on your cleaning.

How Photo Luego helps

The camera overlays your before photo, so the after shot lines up with the stain or the traffic lane.

Time-stamped photos of stains and damage on arrival, from your phone, kept with the job.

A branded report with a drag-to-compare slider for each room.

Photos stay on your phone on the free plan, and reports are only shared with the people you send them to.

On the job

Photograph each room wide, then the worst stains and traffic lanes close up, before you touch the carpet. When it is dry enough to photograph, match each shot and send the report.

How a carpet cleaner uses it, step by step

  1. 1

Photograph before you start. Each room wide, then the stains, traffic lanes and any damage. Tap the shutter for each shot.

  2. 2

Do the work. Pretreat, clean and groom the carpet. Your photos are saved on your phone, even without a signal.

  3. 3

Match the after shots. The camera shows a ghost of each before photo, so you stand in the same spot at the same angle. A live percentage tells you when it lines up.

  4. 4

Send the report. Text your customer a link to a page with before and after sliders, your logo, your review links and a pay button.

Why photos protect a carpet cleaner

The result is soft and easy to forget, and the damage is easy to dispute. Photos cover both.

The result: a slider of the hallway lane before and after shows what the customer paid for.

The limits of the work: a stain that did not come out is on record as it was, with your note on what you tried.

Pre-existing damage: burns, bleach spots and worn patches are photographed on arrival.

Upsells: a before and after of protectant, deodorizing or upholstery work gives the customer a reason to add it next time.

Tips for before and after photos that match

  1. 1

Shoot from the doorway or another fixed spot, so the before and the after match.

  2. 2

Turn on the lights and open the blinds. Raking side light shows texture and stains best.

  3. 3

Photograph the after once the carpet is dry. Wet carpet looks darker and hides the result.

  4. 4

Move furniture back, or keep it out of both photos, so the pair matches.

  5. 5

Take a wide shot of each room and a close shot of each stain.

  6. 6

Keep your hose, wand and equipment out of the frame for the after.

Short captions that help the report sell

One line under a transformation says what you did. A few to adapt:

Traffic lane in the hallway, cleaned.
Pet stain treated and lightened.
Living room carpet cleaned and groomed.
Stairs cleaned, with edges detailed.
What to tell the customer

Tell the customer you photograph each room before and after: "It records how the carpet looked when I arrived, including any damage that was already there, and I will send you a short report when I am done." Photograph any existing damage before you start.

General advice, not legal advice. Rules about photographing people and property vary by place, so check yours.

Questions

What is the best before and after photo app for carpet cleaners?

It depends on what you need. If you want matching before and after photos and a report you can send to customers, Photo Luego is built for exactly that, and it has an always-free plan. If you also need scheduling, quoting and invoicing, field service software does that, and many carpet cleaners use one of those together with a photo app like Photo Luego.

When should I take the after photo?

Once the carpet is dry enough to look true. Wet carpet looks darker and flatter, which hides the difference. If you are done before it dries, photograph it then too, and take the final photo on your next visit or ask the customer to send one.

How do I show a stain that did not come out?

Photograph it before you start, then after your treatment. Add a short note under the photo, such as "Old pet stain, partly lightened. Likely set into the backing." The report then shows what you did and what you could not change.

What damage should I record on arrival?

Burns, bleach spots, pulled loops, worn patches, seams, pet damage and stains that are clearly old. Photograph them close up and from a step back before you start.

Does it work with Jobber or Housecall Pro?

It connects directly to Calendly: your bookings appear on their own. With other tools, such as Housecall Pro or Workiz, there is no direct link yet, but Photo Luego works alongside them. Take the photos and text or email the report to your customer.

How much does Photo Luego cost for carpet cleaners?

The free plan has no time limit and keeps one job at a time on your phone. Pro is $12 a month or $99 a year, with a 7-day free trial and no card needed. Pro saves your photos to your account, shares report links, and adds Calendly and team features.

Make your next job pay for itself.
